There are many types of map views. These include:
Satellite Views
Oblique Views
Aerial Views
Ground Level Views
Satellite Views are direct overhead maps obtained from sattelite passing over in orbit. They usually detail only the roofs of houses, roads and large areas of trees or grass.

Oblique Views are obtained usually by a plane, or helicopter flying fairly high above the ground. They show the ground at a 20-70 degree slant.

Aerial Views are obtained from a plane flying directly overhead or off at an angle to the point captured. Aerial Views usually are quite detailed, or they show large areas on one map.
